Work to renew bridges on the Cotswold Line in the Vale of Evesham has been taking place this week.
The route has been closed between Moreton-in-Marsh and Worcester since Saturday, May 29, and will reopen on Saturday, June 5, after Network Rail completes replacement of bridges over George Lane in Wyre Piddle, near Pershore, and a short span of the bridge over the River Avon at Fladbury.
The decks of the bridges were life-expired. Other engineering work was also being carried out in the area during the closure, including some track repairs at Charlton.
Trains have been operating to a modified timetable between London Paddington, Oxford and Moreton-in-Marsh, with buses replacing trains to and from stations to Evesham and Worcester Foregate Street. A very limited peak hour train service was operating between London and Worcester Shrub Hill or Hereford.
Services will resume on Saturday, June 5, although with a slightly later start than usual and some other alterations to early morning trains. Check train times before travelling.
