To mark the 170th anniversary of the opening of the railway between Evesham, Pershore and Worcester in May 1852, the CLPG and the Vale Public Transport Group have organised two events in Pershore.
An exhibition of historic photographs of railway stations in the Vale of Evesham in the steam era is being held at Pershore Library until Friday, May 27. It can be viewed free of charge at the library, in Church Street, during its normal opening hours from Monday to Saturday.
And on Friday, May 27, the library will host a Steam Film Evening, with local railway archvist Michael Clemens, featuring films of the railways in the Vale of Evesham and the Cotswolds shot by his late father Jim Clemens in the last decades of regular main line steam operation, plus some scenes of community events in Pershore in the early 1960s.
This event starts at 7.45pm and admission costs £5 per person on the door.
