Work on hold for Royal funeral

Network Rail has suspended engineering work at Oxford due to take place over the weekend of September 17-18, ahead of the funeral on Monday of Queen Elizabeth !!.

The decision was taken so that passengers wanting to travel to London can go by train, rather than having to use replacement buses for part of their journeys.

Normal Saturday and Sunday timetables will be in operation on the Cotswold Line as a result.

And the rail unions have suspended strike action due to take place on Saturday, September 17, in a dispute over pay, along with walkouts planned for Monday, September 26, and Tuesday, September 27.

Engineering work in the Oxford area on the weekends of September 24-25 and October 1-2 will go ahead as planned. Click here to find details of travel arrangements that will apply.
