On Train Customer Survey
During your next journey you may be asked to participate in an onboard survey. This is the start of a new National survey asking passengers about their experience when making rail journeys across the network.
The survey is called the Rail Customer Experience Survey (RXCS) and is a joint approach between the Rail Delivery Group, Transport Focus, the Department for Transport, and rail stakeholders, including all Train Operating Companies. The survey will provide an independent picture of passenger views, experience, and sentiment across all aspects of their journey. In addition to providing a monthly update and scorecard there will also be two reports a year which summarise the data gathered over the 6-month period.
The survey replaces the gap in an independent summary of passenger’s views, which was previously provided by the National Rail Passenger Survey – and by the industry Wavelength survey. Train Operating Companies will continue to run their post travel survey alongside this data.
