Railway campaign group Railfuture is holding a conference for rail users next month, on the theme of Rail Driving Growth in the Thames Valley.
The event is in Reading on Saturday, November 10, at the town centre Novotel hotel in Friar Street, a five-minute walk from Reading station.
Among the topics to be covered will be the Great Western electrification project, the forthcoming opening of the Elizabeth Line from Reading and Paddington under central London to Liverpool Street and Canary Wharf, and the development of plans for a Western Rail Link to Heathrow airport.
Former CLPG chairman Ian Baxter, of consultants SLC Rail, will talk about developing new stations, including Worcestershire Parkway.
The conference, which runs from 10.45am to 4.30pm, will also include the presentation of Railfuture’s 2018 Rail User Group Awards.
Tickets are £30 per person, or £20 for holders of a 16-25 Railcard, and include a buffet lunch. Bookings close on Thursday, November 8.
