A new railcard, the 16-17 Saver, is now on sale, and offers 16 to 17-year-olds a 50% discount on train fares in England and Wales.
There are no time restrictions on its use, nor is there a minimum fare at certain times, unlike the 16-25 Railcard.
It can also be used to buy season tickets at discounted rates and passengers can continue to use a season ticket for up to four months after they turn 18.
The 16-17 Saver railcard costs £30 per year and is available as a printed card or can be stored in a mobile phone, using the Railcard app.
Please note that this railcard can only be bought online or over the phone on 0345 301 1656. It is not available at railway station ticket offices.
In addition, it is not valid on ScotRail and Caledonian Sleeper trains.
