Changes on way for Moreton-in-Marsh bus links

Bus services that connect with Cotswold Line trains at Moreton-in-Marsh station are affected by a number of changes.

Following a retendering of bus routes subsidised by Warwickshire County Council, routes 1 and 2 between Moreton-in-Marsh, Blockley, Broadway, Chipping Campden and Stratford-upon-Avon will be operated by Stagecoach from Monday, July 25.

There will be some minor changes to the timetable and some buses running between Chipping Campden and Stratford-upon-Avon only will be extended to and from Stratford station to connect with trains to and from Birmingham in the peak hours.

Since May, the two routes have been operated by Diamond Buses, which took over the Excelbus network from Warwickshire coach operator Johnsons.

Moreton-in-Marsh station is also connected to Stratford-upon-Avon by Pulhams Coaches’ route 51, which runs via Shipston-on-Stour and Ilmington. There will be some slight changes to the Saturday timetable, to co-ordinate better with other buses between Stratford and Shipston, and the 19.35 service from Moreton-in-Marsh to Shipston and Ilmington will be withdrawn, due to low passenger numbers.
