Worcestershire Parkway wins award

Worcestershire Parkway station has received a top environmental assessment award from a national body.

The station was given a Civil Engineering Environmental Quality Assessment Award (CEEQUAL) and rated as very good for being committed to sustainable working and delivering lasting impacts to the local area.

The assessment highlighted how materials from the project were reused on the site and a number of improvements were made to the local water environment through the use of managed drainage sysatems around the site.

The station, which opened in 2020, is on the south-east outskirts of Worcester and is served by GWR trains on the Cotswold Line and CrossCountry Trains’ route between Nottingham, Derby, Birmingham, Gloucester and Cardff.
