RMT strikes set to shut down Cotswold Line again

Cotswold Line train services are set to be severely disrupted by strike action later this month

Due to strikes over pay and conditions by staff who are members of the RMT union, GWR trains are not expected to run between Oxford, Worcester and Hereford, and between Great Malvern, Worcester, Gloucester and Bristol, on the following days:

  • Thursday, March 16
  • Saturday, March 18
  • Thursday, March 30
  • Saturday, April 1

Due to the effects of the strikes, there may also be some changes to timetables on Friday, March 17. and Friday, March 31, so check in advance.

Limited GWR services are expected to operate between Oxford, Reading and London Paddington on the days of the strikes, but passengers may need to change trains at Reading or Didcot Parkway.

The strikes will also affect CrossCountry Trains. It is expected that no trains will operate on the route between Birmingham, Worcestershire Parkway, Gloucester and Cardiff on the days of the strikes. Some services may also be cancelled on Friday, March 17. and Friday, March 31.
