Sunday trains change due to Oxford-Didcot work

Engineering work between Oxford and Didcot in late March and early April means that Cotswold Line trains will only operate west of Oxford on Sunday, March 26, and Sunday, April 2.

Replacement buses will link Oxford and Didcot Parkway stations, to connect with trains to and from Reading, Slough and London Paddington.

Most Cotswold Line trains will operate between Oxford, Worcester and Great Malvern, with a number extended to and from Hereford.

In addition, the 19.20 from London Paddington to Hereford and the 20.50 from Paddington to Worcester Shrub Hill will both run via Swindon, calling en route at Didcot Parkway to connect with buses to Oxford.

  • And Network Rail has given advance notice that from Saturday, July 29, to Sunday, August 6, there will be alterations to train services in the Oxford area, due to work being carried out as part of the project to replace the rail bridge over Botley Road, pictured, and construct an extra platform and western entrance to the station.
