Worcester services affected by engineering work

Weekend train services in the Worcester area during May will be disrupted by engineering work.

Network Rail is closing the line through Cheltenham on the weekends of May 6-7, 13-14 and 20-21.

Buses will replace Great Western Railway (GWR) trains between Worcester, Ashchurch for Tewkesbury, Cheltenham and Gloucester and CrossCountry Trains services between Birmingham, Worcestershire Parkway, Ashchurch, Cheltenham and Gloucester during the closures.

Online journey planners have been updated with travel information for these weekends.

In central Worcester, the replacement buses will serve both Foregate Street and Shrub Hill stations.

  • GWR trains on the Cotswold Line during these weekends will continue to operate between Oxford, Worcester, Great Malvern and Hereford to the modified timetable in force while the line between Oxford and Didcot is closed for emergency repair work at Nuneham Viaduct over the River Thames. West Midlands Railway trains between Worcester and Birmingham will operate to normal timetables.
