Have say about new timetable at Oxford station event

Great Western Railway (GWR) is holding a meet the manager event at Oxford station this Thursday, October 24.

It will provide an opportunity to find out more about GWR’s planned changes to the Cotswold Line timetable in mid-December and to have a say about services generally.

The GWR team will be in the main concourse at the station from 7am until 10am.

Click here for an outline of the timetable changes from your station. Full details of services from Sunday, December 15, are now available in online journey planners, so you can check if there are changes to the times of the trains you use. Pocket timetables are expected to be available from stations next month.

The CLPG has raised concerns with GWR about a number of aspects of the new timetable, particularly a last-mimute decision to remove calls at Reading from most afternoon and early evening weekday peak trains from London to the Cotswold Line. As a result, many passengers will be forced to change trains at Oxford. Between the 16.18 and 20.18 departures from Reading, there will be just one through train to stations beyond Oxford, leaving at 17.59.

The group is also waiting for answers to a number of questions about changes to ticket validity flinked to the timetable changes and the start time for validity of the Cotswold Line Railcard, as a result of the loss of the current 08.25 departure from Worcester Foregate Street to Oxford and London.
