HS2 station work affects London connections

Cotswold Line train services will be altered on Sunday, November 26, and again on Christmas Eve (Sunday, December 24) and Wednesday, December 27, due to construction work for the new HS2 station at Old Oak Common, pictured, in west London.

During this work, Cotswold Line services will start and finish their journeys at Reading, along with other GWR long-distance services to and from South Wales and the South West.

Cotswold Line passengers will have three options to travel in and out of central London on November 26, December 24 and 27:

  • Change at Oxford and travel on Chiltern Railways services to and from London Marylebone.
  • Change at Reading and use South Western Railway services to and from London Waterloo. Please note that these are expected to be busy with passengers connecting to and from other GWR long-distance trains.
  • Use GWR or Elizabeth Line trains from Reading to Slough or Ealing Broadway – until 12.40pm on Sunday, November 26, these will run to and from Slough, where connecting buses will provide links to the London Underground station at Ealing Broadway, to enable passengers to travel to and from central London. For the rest of November 26 and on December 24 and 27, these trains will run to and from Ealing Broadway.

As usual, no GWR train services will operate on Christmas Day (Monday, December 25) and Boxing Day (Tuesday, December 26).
