A reminder that the rail bridge south of Oxford station will be removed and replaced during the first week of February. There will be no southbound trains from Oxford station, with replacement buses to stations to Didcot Parkway. Some northbound services will run. Do check your journey!

We’re writing to let you know that between Sunday 1 February and Sunday 8 February Network Rail will be undertaking bridge replacement works that will affect train services between Oxford and Didcot Parkway. During this time trains at Oxford station will only be using Platform 1 and 2.
Replacement road transport is planned between:
- Oxford and Didcot Parkway – fast and stopping services
- Didcot Parkway/Oxford and Banbury – fast services only
Trains will still operate between Oxford and Worcester, Great Malvern or Hereford via Evesham, plus stopping services between Oxford and Banbury (except on Sundays). We will also operate trains at Didcot Parkway between London Paddington and South Wales, the West of England or the Cotswolds, including some Hereford services.
Chiltern Railways will still operate trains between Oxford and London Marylebone via Oxford Parkway, plus trains between Banbury and London Marylebone via Kings Sutton. CrossCountry will operate trains between Didcot Parkway and Bournemouth via Reading, plus between Banbury and Manchester Piccadilly via Birmingham New Street.
All changes have been uploaded into online journey planners and we’re also making customers aware at stations and on board through announcements, station posters, and both traditional and social media. For more information then please visit gwr.com/upgrade.
