Charlbury Welcomes Walkers!

CLPG has been supporting Charlbury Town Council’s Walkers Are Welcome initiative in their monthly programme of walks through the West Oxfordshire countryside. Charlbury was accredited as a ‘WAW’ town in 2013 and is the only town in the county to receive the accolade.
The photograph shows April’s group at Charlbury Station, after the 10.12 arrival brought 14 walkers from Evesham on a reciprocal visit. They were about to set off for Shorthampton, the Wychwood Forest and Finstock – where lunch was taken at thethatched 18th century Plough Inn – before returning to Charlbury via Cornbury Park.
Most of this year’s walks will be on the second Thursday of the month using train or bus from Charlbury and walking back to the town. Arrangements can be made for private groups.
